One person who had a lasting positive impact on my life was a professor who believed in my potential long before I fully recognized it myself. Beyond the classroom, they took the time to mentor me, guide my academic growth, and open doors that shaped my journey as a researcher. They connected me with research opportunities, wrote strong reference letters on my behalf, introduced me to academic conferences, and encouraged me to study and collaborate with professors at other universities. Their support was not only professional but also deeply personal—they created opportunities, offered encouragement during uncertain moments, and helped me see academia as a space where I belonged. Their mentorship continues to influence how I approach scholarship, community, and helping others grow.
