One effective way to quickly improve Los Angeles and Albuquerque is by providing more shelters and support services for people experiencing homelessness. Beyond offering a safe place to stay, city leaders should also create part-time job opportunities that help people earn income, stay productive, and regain their independence. Combining shelter with meaningful work could help many individuals get off the streets, reduce nuisance, loitering, and littering, and earn a small income toward a more stable future. If I have the chance to become a city mayor, that would be my priority. Regreening would be the next step.
