What I’m Passionate About

What are you passionate about?

BORR, California

Your greatness comes from the mess around you, not despite it,” Conan O’Brien.

People often ask what motivates my work. Central to my interests is a deep curiosity about how people, stories, and places influence each other. I am passionate about Indigenous knowledge systems, folklore, memory, and performance. Much of my research investigates how communities safeguard and share knowledge through stories, practices, landscapes, and relationships with the more-than-human world.

Growing up in Nigeria and later studying and living in different parts of the world has enhanced my appreciation for the many ways people find meaning in their environments. I am also dedicated to language preservation and education. Through Atilingo, I explore how technology can assist in learning and revitalizing Nigerian languages, helping new generations connect with their cultural roots.

Writing is another passion. Whether in academic essays, poetry, or personal reflections, I write to understand the world more deeply and to share ideas that spark curiosity, empathy, and dialogue.

Above all, I love learning. This blog is an extension of that passion—a space to reflect on culture, memory, place, creativity, and the questions shaping my journey as a scholar, writer, and lifelong learner.

Listen to the stories, listen to the land, and remain open to what both can teach.
