Learning To Say No

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Saying no to someone or something can be a tricky thing, especially when you are considerate of other’s feelings. However, learning to say no is necessary to keep a person from behaviors and lifestyles that can be harmful in the long run. In the past, I felt terrible saying no to people, but I realize that if I don’t have boundaries, I will let many things slide, which, most times, doesn’t turn out well for me. Nowadays, I go with what suits me. If it doesn’t, I say no. Also, I consider other people’s standpoints before making my decision. Whatever the case, my mental health comes first.

  1. Right. This has also been difficult for me and over time, it is a work in progress for me. There is this phrase I heard that it’s either a “HELL YEAH!!” or “no.”. Sometimes I used that to gauge if something was what I really wanted to do or not.
