Self-Care

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

There are many lessons I wish I learned earlier in life. One is putting myself first before anything else. By this, I’m not insinuating being selfish but learning to make decisions that won’t hurt me in the long run. I would be friendly and good and, at the same time, smart and discerning.

I like giving my all to people I care about. I take on responsibilities that I do not necessarily need to. I love deeply without anyone asking me to, and I do things with pure intent. However, it’s in human nature to take advantage of others, and though I don’t feel that anyone has taken advantage of me, I see everything as an opportunity to learn.

Right now, I’ll keep being myself, giving my energy to good causes, and loving people more than they deserve, but not to my detriment. My happiness will come first, likewise, not at the expense of others.
