Merry Christmas from California

Merry Christmas dear friends.

This will be my first Christmas holiday away from home. It’s been a long holiday so far. The ever-busy streets of UC Berkeley have become a ghost town. The roads are empty and bare of cars. One can confidently stand to take pictures on the roads. The fine houses and magnificent buildings like the stadiums and theatres stand unperturbed by the absent students.

Early December saw an exodus of students and residents of UC Berkeley. Some of the students leaving are done with their academic programs and won’t be returning next semester. The busy town is practically empty, and I can hear the wind swoosh through the trees. It was hot today. The sun glistened on faces, and the tarmac was superheated. Well, that’s it for today. We are cooking dinner at a friend’s place and I’m playing a role in it!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It’s evening in California, and I’m preparing to have a Christmas dinner with friends. Have a wonderful evening and holiday.
