A Shepherd’s Night

The shepherd lays quiet in his garden
His face interacting with the black sky
Familiar with the singing night insects
And bleating sheep behind the barn door
He listens to folk music from vales below,
Staring up at the faint darkness above
He smiles when the early barn owls hoot
Reminding of nature’s friendship & love
