Silence is not always golden
When it comes to caution and discipline, silence can be an obstacle. For example, consider a kid riding a bike on a busy road and choosing not to warn him about the danger. Also, think about not calling the police, instead opting to record or observe gang violence in the neighborhood.
Speak up not only when it benefits you. Speak up for the helpless and the weak. Speak up because you have a voice, and your voice could be the savior they need.
Speak up for the oppressed. Because if you don’t, you could be the next target of the bullies.
Speak up when someone’s rights are violated. If they are human and are treated inhumanely, then something is wrong. When things are wrong, it’s time to speak up.
Do you know…
… the bad guys take the lead because the good guys aren’t speaking up. That the good guys are afraid to speak the truth, even when honesty is liberty?
Imagine what the world would look like when every good person around the globe begins to speak out against bad governance, terrorism, climate inaction, corruption, and other vices. The power shift will be toward goodness for good!
Let the world hear your voice. Let’s make it a tradition to call a spade for what it is. We’ll never know whose life we might be saving. Just speak up today. Good night.

As someone who hates confrontation, this is something I’m actively trying to address. But I’ve also learned that the more I work on myself, the easier it is to speak up, so I guess I have to deal with this problem from scratch. Anyway, thanks for this post!

Anytime Stuart! I agree with you.
I remember my high school days. There was a bully who terrorized the ‘small kids’ to which I belonged to. 😁 Usually he would rough up and kid and move to the next and would continue until he got to all of us. One day, I confronted him and though I lost the fight he didn’t bother me anymore. He also let go of my closest friend. I paid for our freedom 😁
