Greens and Stones

WP

There’s so much beauty in the world, there’s so much pain too. Pain prevails more because humankind wants it so.

I wrote this poem some time ago. It’s self-explanatory, so I don’t need to say much about it. The main point is that man, in his pursuit of wealth and power, has become an enemy to himself. What do you think?

Greens and Stones

Hills covered in green
Towering over valleys,
Stories of man’s invention;
Iron snakes and rickety wheels
Sunshine is color of ripe wheat
Children play in the prairie fields
Morning air swings up tall trees
Beauty is seen all over the land
There is so much beauty around
But stones in the hearts of men.
