Lightning Strikes by Arunav Barua

The Earth was turbulent, primeval turmoil
The passions expressed, boiling, hot oil
History has her reasons for staying hidden
The answers she holds to lands forbidden

Mankind was a happy accident, mere fate
Billions of years after the Earth’s, little late
Give or take a century, the legend remains
But history cannot wipe away all the stains

The Earth belonged to no one, even human
Hearts couldn’t claim the richness, no man
Was ever created in grand design above
It was lightning striking that gave us love

The oldest emotion that gives us heaven
From eternity to immortality, was love given…
