Exercise: Imagine

While this isn’t poetry, let’s consider it a small exercise. Imagine you have the power to choose your feelings every day. What options would you select?

Happiness or sadness
Flowers or weeds
Possibilities or adversities
Plenty or scarcity
Love or hate
Green or gray
Peace or conflict
Beginning or end

Your choices shape your reality. If you’re having a tough day, consider getting up to take a walk, go for a run, or swim. You might even consider volunteering at a local store or helping ducks cross a busy highway. Smiling at strangers can spread hope; when someone smiles back, it shows you’ve made a positive impact. So, choose wisely about the character you want to become! That’s where your energy might be focused.
