Dear Starry Night

Dear starry night,

This quiet and lonely friend of mine
here comes once more my fable
, passed to me by a surge of the wind
, and the waves of the breezy ocean

The stars whisper;

Dream one more time, dear shepherd
. Consider the lilies that grow by the riverside
, for they care only for the light and the wild.
Eat the cheese from the pleasant milkmaid
. Loosen up and enjoy the fair evening wind
. Let the radio singing of the countryside
save you from this unnatural world.

So dear starry night,
one of flickering light
and unfamiliar sight
, stay as my playmate,
listen to my stories. I restrain myself with
Be a companion I always return to
, When each night I find my weary path
Leads to a field where the stars glitter above.
