UNESCO ‘Sheroes’ Nigeria Competition

The issue of human rights and gender equality is gaining momentum. And this is the best time to get things right. So I submitted this piece below:

She’s a lady and more,
The mother of life,
And heartbeat of nations,
Innocent child by the street corner
Torn apart by her own society
Groomed in love and piety
Scarred by her own tradition
By some men and nations
She’s a memory of pain
Held in hard life’s pangs
Yet she gives hope and love
So remember to treat her so

Join me in this competition (Deadline: September 30, 2020), using painting and poetry to express your attitudes: https://en.unesco.org/news/national-art-competition-under-theme-sheroes
