Poem: Man and Nature

It is pleasant to sit in the green wood,
and to watch the Sun in his chariot of gold,
and the Moon in her chariot of pearl.
Sweet is the scent of the hawthorn,
and sweet are the bluebells that hide in the valleys
and the heather that blows on the hill.
Yet love may be better than life,
I ask can the heart of nature be compared to the heart of man?

    1. Thank you. As a growing kid I’m always fascinated watching heavenly bodies. I knew even before I came to learn of their importance that they are special. I have seen several shooting stars in one location different times. I’m not particularly drawn to the Sun, apart from the warmth and beauty it gave. But the Moon and night stars are my favourites; because they are emissaries of night folklore. And when they shine it’s a great time to tell a story or two in Africa.
