Count Your Blessings

Listen to the beautiful rhythm in your soul

I am an avid listener and greatly enjoy the sounds of nature and the world around me. I find joy in the soothing sounds of rainfall, the rumbling of clouds, and the intensity of raging thunderstorms. I appreciate the gentle flow of waterfalls and the melodic symphonies created by birds and people alike.

During my evening walk, I was accompanied by a charming bird that sang delightfully in the warm weather as we strolled together. I’m not sure what species it was, but it hopped along the fence while I walked beside it. However, our peaceful moment was suddenly interrupted by the loud whirring of helicopter rotors, which scared my little companion away. Moments like these remind me of how blessed I am, and like the fleeting memory of that bird, I strive not to take anything for granted.

I strive to fully immerse myself in my senses whenever I spend time in nature. I pay attention to the vibrant colors of the landscape—observing where the horizon meets the earth, noting where the sun sets, the boundaries of forests, and the patterns of clouds in the sky. I listen to the soothing rustle of leaves in the evening breeze and inhale the earthy scent of damp soil after a rain. I have seen a confused squirrel, watching helplessly as its nuts slip from its tiny hands and the sweet melodies of distant birdsong flying into the sunset. These elements combine to create a symphony of experiences that invigorate my spirit. To listen is a great skill; to learn to listen is truly powerful.

All we need to do is listen, pay greater attention, be grateful, and count our blessings. Good night, everyone.
