Video: Summer Feel

When I see birds warming up to the coming season, I can tell it will be a good time!

I promised to write about my recent encounters with birds, but this post is not about that. I just wanted to share some short videos I captured. Some of my followers might wonder why I post about night-related events like evening clouds, but trust me; I’m not a vampire—I take walks whenever I feel like it. I may have misjudged New Mexico by saying I haven’t seen much local wildlife. That was mainly because I typically walk or hike at night when most animals are retired for the day. However, my residential area is home to many bird species, which I have seen but haven’t spotted many reptiles. I’ve also heard reports of skunks, and just last Sunday morning, we drove through a suburb with a foul smell that my friend suggested might be from a skunk.

Let’s discuss the videos now.

Look at those joyful birds reveling in the fresh mountain air. Like them, I cherish the feeling of New Mexico’s clean, unpolluted air. Sometimes, I wish I had wings to soar over towers, buildings, forests, etc. I believe the best part of being a bird is having a view that other earthly inhabitants can’t help but envy. Metaphorically, each creature longs to be something it is not: the bird dreams of swimming like a fish, the fish wishes to reach for the sky as a tree, and the tree yearns to be something else altogether. We often overlook our uniqueness, and that’s unfortunate. This post is not for negative energies; instead, I invite you to embrace your uniqueness as we prepare for summertime!

I caught this little one on camera; it couldn’t wait for a longer video

I love New Mexico and want to write as much poetry and reflections as possible before returning to California—thumbs up, New Mexico. Oke is out!
