Tonight, I tried to capture the cloud formation, but the images turned out blurry. The constant lights from the nearby estate may have contributed to this. I noticed a flock of night insects gathering around street lights. Occasionally, the insects collide with one another and fall, but they manage to catch themselves mid-air and change their flight direction in the busy traffic.
I imagine them shouting obscenities at each other: “You look where you are going…”
“You better watch yourself! 😡”
“No, you watch yourself! 😡”
Anyhow, minor chaos caused by these flight bugs kept me entertained. In addition to the clouds and moon, the other natural detail was the sounds of the incessant chirping of crickets and other night insects. The night is filled with the melodies of insects, a pleasant sound much better than the distracting and unnatural noises of passing aircraft above and fast cars below.
Here’s a piece that came to me during my evening walk tonight.
Moon, Melodies, Myth and Man
The moon follows me
With its pale light, I see
I walk, and it stalks;
So my shadow falls behind
And how it sweeps the land
Searching in the calm clan
For melody, myth or man
