Sandia Mountain
This impressive escarpment is a natural beauty I appreciate more each time I see it. Sandia and other abundant mountains in New Mexico are essential to its splendor. The landscape, which is somewhat desert-like but not entirely desert, stretches against apparent blue horizons. I feel the vibes of the movie The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly each time I hear the hawks’ keee-eee calls soaring above the mountains. Sometimes, it seems contentious to me how a desert can experience snowfall. One of the magical experiences of living here is that very aspect. I discovered and wrote a muse about a lonely cactus growing by the roadside. The Albuquerque surrounding area’s elevation is over 5,000 feet, and it can sometimes get quite cold. This height is absurd compared to the San Francisco Bay Area, where I lived for two years. The Sandia Mountain rise like a fortress, serving as a refuge for many. The people of New Mexico are kind and gentle, reflecting the natural benevolence of their surroundings.
Happy New Year Wishes for 2025
No matter the future, I have learned to live in the moment. 2024 has faced its fair share of challenges. When everything feels uncertain, I remind myself of my nursery school rhymes: breathe in and out. In… and out. And I repeat that. I hold myself accountable for reflecting on the French phrase., “Que sera, sera“—what will be, will be. However, I understand that change can only occur if we make an effort to try. I am thankful for those who helped and believed in me.
I have no regrets or bitterness about missed opportunities or the past. Instead, I hold onto hope and dreams for the coming year. For the New Year, I wish for a better world. Remember to stand up for others, always be kind, and treat others the way you want to be treated. Celebrate with love and peace in your hearts. Happy New Year, my friends!
