Love Poem: When You Look At Me

Love is the sum of little things that people do every day

When you look at me, your grey eyes make me fall deeper
When you smile at me – ina murna – my heart dance for joy!

Commentary

Ina murna in the Nigerian Hausa language means I’m happy. In Igbo, it means obinatom. Why do I love writing about love? To me, it is the most excellent thing to write about. Love is a feeling that keeps the heart warm. Love is a language every nationality understands. It is the bridge that brings worlds together—that brings land over water. Love is costless. It is being gentle or kind. It is picking and smelling pretty flowers. It is happiness for others’ successes. It is thinking of others in a positive light. It’s the smiles and laughter that memories bring. Or the silly dance one does for cherished ones. Without love, nothing works or exists.

So, I am writing this love poem for all lovers out there. You make the world a beautiful place. Good night, my friends.
