One subject that I admire and love so much is Folklore or Cultural Studies. Growing up in a culture that prides itself on storytelling, I paid keen attention to how stories shape who people become. I just completed a graduate program in Folklore at a prestigious university in California to further my passion. Storytelling was a significant part of my research in America. I’m researching how oral expressive forms, such as proverbs and folktales, help younger generations negotiate living spaces with other non-human species and the environment. Folk traditions can offer pathways for people to develop sustainable conservation practices.
