Are you a good judge of character?

Attitude is everything
I don’t think anybody can judge a character perfectly. However, I’m convinced that character is a function of people’s relationships with others and their environment. For instance, a well-raised child knows how to respect others and to be kind to people and their environment. Such kindness can extend to how the child treats the stray dogs or cats on the street, or the flowers growing by the roadside. Virtues like compassion, gentleness, humility, charity, and standing up for the oppressed are good traits. Vices like disrespect, pride, hot temperance, jealousy, and haughtiness suggest bad attitudes and character. Knowing and doing what is right is a sign of good character, and vice versa. Being accountable, disciplined, and using the magic words—please, you’re welcome, excuse me, thank you, and sorry, can say a lot about people’s character too.
