Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

My first time traveling to America was long and tiring. I will repost a slightly edited first post after I arrive from Frankfurt:
Forgive me; I arrived at UC Berkeley from Frankfurt yesterday after sitting on a plane for 13 hours. Timezones changed. Unpacking, registrations, and preparing for classes took their toll on me. As part of my apology,
Well, I’m energized, I’m empowered, and I’m loved. You know, that feeling comes from knowing that someone (in my case, the universe and the wonderful people it blessed me with) got your back? And how can I ever get used to it? I’m a grateful person. Nothing compares to the power of compassion. Thank you, UC Berkeley community and the Mastercard Foundation, for your hospitality and kindness. Now, let’s do Africa proud.
