Be Yourself

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself, I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before meIsaac Newton

The best piece of advice I received is to always be myself, to stay true, and to be kind not just to myself but to others.

The beautiful thing about being kind and nice to others is having the power to be nasty but choosing not to. We all have seen how corrupt and sad the world is. This strength to make positive choices helps one keep thoughts and actions in check. It develops discipline and courage. So I give this advice to others: if you think changing your good self to suit the world is an option, think twice. A leopard can’t change its spots.

Well, it’s not a bad thing to be different. So be the very best version of yourself, anyhow. The right things and people will come.
