Berkeley’s Night (Fleet Week)

The wind whips away
Soft chill on bare flesh
Evening – end of the day,
Start of something else

Gardening it reminds
Moonshine it brings
To a grateful shepherd
Miles away from home

Night is a quiet companion
But weekends are different
Man and his imagination,
The best team ever known

Clouds rumble above
To unnatural flights
The sky is very busy
So is Berkeley’s night

The ocean takes apart
Yet heartbeats rhyme
Home is in the heart,
A reminder of affection

Commentary:

So there’s an important event tomorrow in San Francisco! It’s called Fleet week. Perhaps that’s why there has been a lot of aerial activity in the Bay Area.
