Daybreak

Getting up to faint bird tweets
When golden shine sifts through curtains
And morning airs – so delightful and swift
Wander through this little town

I heard the older folk greet
They talk of night’s heavy rain
But as the storm is now past
A mild drizzle cheers the lawn

Sunlight warms my room and town
Each cosy day is a blessing indeed
Grateful for good things like a garden
And for her residents like trees and birds
