Poem: A Farmer’s Dream


Night lets the farmer dream on his fields
Little crickets hide in cracks on the earth
They sing and listen to the wind howl
Fairy butter-moths follow candlelight
Amazed at the red maiden who was a wild dancer
Valleys of ripe corn and golden wheat
Are dreams blessed for the diligent farmer,
When plates of almonds and fluffy pillows wait
