Everyone has a role to play in our society. Even the smallest can contribute to positive change. Often, people think that responsibility is only a leadership duty; therefore, it is solely the leaders’ role. I disagree. I believe responsibility extends beyond being led. It is a commitment to doing what is right. A person who looks beyond themselves, called self-awareness, seeks to make a difference in their community while transforming themselves into the good they wish to see in others. If we could look beyond ourselves, just imagine what the world might look like. Let’s be the change we want to see. Let’s be the story that millions of children and youth read. Let our lives speak responsibility and love because everyone has a role to play. Not now, but eventually in the future.

This responsible change we seek begins with us. It’s in our hands to make our communities and the world better.
